Con Ed Asking for Help, Extra Conservation on East Side as it Repairs
Problem.
After problems with a transformer on the East Side, Con Edison is urging
all customers in Midtown East to discontinue their use of non-essential
electrical appliances and equipment until problems on electrical
equipment can be resolved.
Residents and businesses between 40th Street and 14th Street, from Fifth
Avenue to the East River should shut off any unused or unnecessary
appliances.
