The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for parts
of New Jersey until 2 p.m. Friday.

Major flooding has been reported in the Bayville area of Berkeley
Township and Toms River. Officials also say numerous underpasses on the
Garden State Parkway are flooded with up to five feet of water.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall is expected to cause flooding of
small creeks and streams in urban areas, including highways, streets,
underpasses and other drainage areas and low-lying spots.

More thunderstorms with heavy rain are located over south Ocean County.
Flash flood warnings have been issued for Seaside Heights, Pleasant
Plains, Mantoloking, Leisure Village, Lakewood, Lakehurst, Holiday City,
Cedar Glen Lakes, Brick Township and Beachwood.

Residents are urged to avoid travel into or through the Bayville area.
