U.S. stocks rise; Dow hits new highs on deal news
NEW YORK
U.S. stocks rose Monday, as investors cheered a report of a possible bid
for Verizon Corp. and other deal news, which helped extend last week's
ground-breaking rally ahead of key earnings reports later in the week.
