> HAITI AFTERSHOCKS 'COULD CONTINUE FOR YEARS'
Aftershocks from last week's earthquake in Haiti will continue
"for months, if not years," the U.S. Geological Survey said as
another tremor shook buildings Friday.

> BRITAIN RAISES TERROR THREAT LEVEL
Britain raised its threat level Friday from "substantial" to
"severe," indicating a terrorist attack is "highly likely," Home
Secretary Alan Johnson said.

> AID MAKES IT TO HAITI BUT NOT TO STREETS
Authorities are working to get more aid to the survivors of
Haiti's earthquake on Friday by restoring two-way traffic to the
country's only working port.

> BRITISH HOSTAGES: PIRATES WILL KILL US
A British couple held "like captive animals" by pirates since
October say they fear one of them will be killed within days if
their captors' ransom demand is unanswered.

> 'WRONG' NIGERIAN WATCHED ON FLIGHT 253
U.S. authorities had another Nigerian-born man with an
engineering background on their radar when Northwest Airlines
Flight 253 prepared to land in Detroit, Michigan, on Christmas
Day.

Authorities in Turkey have detained 120 people after raids
targeting al Qaeda, the country's semi-official Anatolian News
Agency reported Friday.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will address the U.N. General
Assembly in July, the British Mission to the United Nations
announced Friday.

> RUSSIAN SHIP 'IN DANGER OF SINKING'
A Russian cargo ship with about 30 crew members aboard was in
danger of sinking off Russia's eastern coast while stormy
weather interfered with rescue efforts, state-run Itar-Tass news
agency said Friday.
