| NEW YORK (AP) The Dow Jones industrial average has closed above 11,000 for the first time in a year and a half. In preliminary results, the Dow was up 9 to close at 11,006. It is the Dow's first close above 11,000 since Sept. 26, 2008. It briefly topped 11,000 during trading Friday but faded by the close. The Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 2 at 1,196. The Nasdaq composite index gained 4 to 2,458. |
