U.S. stock market tentatively up before Alcoa
U.S. STOCK MARKET TENTATIVELY UP BEFORE ALCOA
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opens above 11,000 for the first time
since September 2008 amid optimism over the upcoming earnings season
and confidence in the global economy.

gains, rallying as the companies agree to a stock-swap merger that
would create a combined entity with electricity-generating assets
nationwide.
